Cowboy is currently for use by Team Warped (OS/2) members only.In short, this server analyzes the performance of Distributed.Net clients. It gathers client log file information via email and creates tabular and graphical information about the performance of each "Cow". It creates new web pages every few minutes with up-to-the-minute stats for all the subscribers. Subscription is free to all Team Warped members.Cowboy is a Distributed.Net stats server with a difference. Rather than show a rehash of aggregate stats downloaded from the DNET site, Cowboy instead shows stats for single computers. Now you can watch the performance of each one of your computers! You configure your client(s) to automatically email log files to Cowboy. Cowboy analyzes log files, adds it to a local database and analyzes the stats for each computer submitting logs. It creates 90 day averages for each computer (Cow) and draws various performance graphs. It also posts the last 100 KB of your log files on this site, so that you can view them from anywhere in the world. Since Cowboy does not analyze the log files of a DNET proxy server, you can configure your clients as you like - as long as you set your clients up to email log files to this server. You can still run a DNET proxy if you like. Last, Cowboy creates personalized web pages for each team member. The personal web page has links to the member's personal stats on the DNET web site. Cowboy updates its stats every 15-20 minutes (depending on traffic) 24/7/365. I wrote this server software to monitor and diagnose problems on my herd of 85 computers a few years ago. Now my herd is a bit smaller, but still difficult to manage without some software help. I use this server to keep track of "problem cows". When I see the key rate start to drop off on a cow, I can take immediate action to keep my overall contest score up. I recently opened up the server for outside users to help promote Team Warped. There is no cost to fellow team members. I do not collect personal information for any use other than creation of the stats pages found on this site.
